Hello friends! My 2023 started off somber and slow. And as I start to pick myself up, life is picking up right alongside me. As any of my actor friends know, we are in the throes of audition season. I've got a couple videos that are still sitting at 1 view each. And I'm gonna keep auditioning! But that's not what I came here to write.
I'm pleased to announce that this May 2023, I'll be making my Orlando Fringe debut! I'll be portraying Casey in Shifted, written by Annie Lovelock & Nic Stelter, and directed by Kassidy Pierce. The callbacks for this show were insanely fun and full of talented, funny actors. Here's the synopsis per the Shifted website:
"Shifted follows Jamie, a college student who becomes aware of the multiverse-shifting power of the stairs in their dorm building. Along with their roommates, Casey and River, they must navigate the dangers of switching between parallel universes and confront the power-hungry RA, who is determined to use the stairs for their own gain. As they fight to keep the stairs' power out of the wrong hands, the group grapples with themes of friendship, power, and the subjective nature of reality. Will they be able to prevent the RA from manipulating the fabric of the universe, or will they become lost in the void like Alex before them?"
Casey is one of Jamie's friends. She's the most logical of her group of friends. She's there for the truth and to call out authority whenever needed. I'm so excited to get to work with this character and the rest of the cast! Shifted will have five performances at the Orlando Fringe Brown Venue in May 2023! In other life news: Jacob just turned 15! He's growing up too fast :( He recently performed in Honor Band at UCF and was beautiful! We're so proud of him.
I'm still working as an Administration Assistant and I'm loving it. Everyone is so nice and thoughtful. I'm excited for the months to come!
And no, I haven't kept to my new year's resolutions. Eh, ce la vie.
